This Weekend

Starting last Friday until yesterday, Monday, I was in Koreatown L.A.
I just started a new project based on Koreatown.
I guess I’m trying to document the things that I notice while there.
This is the first weekend that I started, but so far, it’s been fun.
I am going back to the basics… just trying to enjoy photography~!!!! ^^
I’m shooting chrome, so don’t have any images to post up yet.
But here are some things I did this weekend:

- shopping at old town pasadena
- taco stand in downtown l.a.
- late night dinner at jerry’s deli
- walked all around koreatown twice
- gallery opening reception in east l.a.
- 3 different coffee shops
- getty center
- kbbq
- pho

Pain

Freedom

I need to free myself from my own state of mind and limitations I set.
I need to go back to the start… back to the basics.

Open my mind.
Open my heart.
Open my ears.
Open my eyes.

Seoulful Concert

It was off the chain!!!!
It was a bit slow in the beginning, but when LeeSsang came out… it was nuts~!!!
And MC Mong… I didn’t know that he was THAT popular~
Jay Sean was cool~ You could tell the difference between Korean celebrity and American… They have bodyguards and stuff… It was crazy~!
Another great experience and a lot of fun!!!! ^^

During the Holiday weekend (President's Day, Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day) last week, went up to Solvang/Santa Barbara once again.

I always have fun while up there.

I love the environment of both places.

Also, there are beautiful places to take some photos.

Every time I go, I always find a new place to use as a background~ ^^

I know it's Feburary 1st, but for me, the new year starts today.

I've been so busy in the month of January... it really didn't feel like the new year started.

So, today is the day my resolutions begin.

Also, school started today, even though I didn't have class.

It's the perfect time.

I even decided to take a writing class at school this semester.

I really want to improve my reading/writing/verbal skills.

I believe that it'll help me so much with my art.

I started up early morning prayer once again, so I'll have to see how long that goes~ ^^

I hope this year will be a productive year and see many changes in my life!

It's Christmas Eve, but... MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It's Christmas and the new year is coming.
So I'm posting up an image of a rainbow I tried to chase this month.
I was researching the meaning of a rainbow and one of the sites stated this:

"The rainbow is a bridge between the real and imaginary. It is looked at as a magic bridge on one hand, but on the other hand, people say a project doomed to fail is one built on a rainbow. A person who chases rainbows is someone who never accomplishes anything."

I felt so stupid after reading this statement.
What was I thinking???? In the back of my mind I knew that it was an impossible task, but for some reason, I felt like there was an end and I could be the one to find it.
I guess, to me, the rainbow represents "hope".
I've been feeling like I haven't accomplished anything in my life and I've been living in my own little bubble.
So now, I feel like it's time for me to face reality and start going for my dreams/goals.
Even if there is nothing in the end, the journey will be worth it, right? ^^

Thanksgiving 2009

I’m not too fond of strobe lighting, so I decided to play around with it this Thanksgiving break.
Still getting the hang of it…
It’s fun, but a lot of work if you don’t have an assistant~ hehe

Yay! Student Show @ OCC

The photo department had the annual student show jury.
I turned in 2 of my work and 1 got accepted.
Yay~!!!!!!
I’ll let you guys know when the exhibit starts.

Tis the Season

I guess it’s already winter.
This year, it felt like autumn never came…
Living in Southern California, you can’t really see the seasons change.
But, last weekend, I went up to San Francisco for a day trip and they already started to put up a Christmas tree, the ice rink was open, and people were dressed like it was going to snow~
Winter is my favorite season.
Hope this year is a good one for me and for everybody!!!!
